Samsung Group presents its new Galaxy Tab4 lineup, which will be available by June in three different screen sizes: 7, 8 and 10.1 inches models.
Samsung has officially unveiled the new Galaxy Tab4 tablets. And, it turned out that the rumors floating around the web were correct as the new lineup consists of three models with nearly identical specifications, characterized by screen sizes: 7, 8 and 10.1 inches.
The new Galaxy Tab4 series is aimed at customers on a budget, although Samsung hasn’t yet announced the prices. The Korean company will most likely introduce them at an affordable price, in an attempt to provide a good alternative to the Apple iPads.
The group of tablets boasts WXGA display with a 16:10 screen aspect ratio and resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. In Samsung’s words, the new tablets offer “a brilliant visual experience while watching videos, playing games or reading digital content.”
The Galaxy Tab4 tablet are powered by 1.2 GHz Quad-Core processor paired with 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB internal storage with microSD to add more space up to 32/64GB. It packs a 1.3MP front-facing and 3MP rear camera sensor. However, the battery varies depending on screen sizes. 8-inch Galaxy Tab4 equips a 4450 mAh battery while 10.1-inch model comes a with 6800 mAh battery. The autonomy of 7-inch model hasn’t yet been disclosed. The new tablets also incorporate the Samsung Galaxy S5 design language.
The new devices run Android 4.4 KitKat on-board and will be available in white or black colors only. In connectivity options, they support Wi-Fi connectivity (3G and LTE optional), GPS + GLONASS. As expected, the tabs come loaded with a few proprietary apps such as MultiWindow, Link, WatchON and Group Play.
Samsung claims that the new Galaxy Tab4 will be available around the globe in several versions: a Wi-Fi only or 3G and 4G LTE. The debut is expected in the second quarter of the year for undisclosed prices.
Lately, Samsung introduced Galaxy TabPRO series for professionals and now this mid-range series which clearly indicates that South Korean Giant isn’t interested in margin, but hoping to reside in the tablet segment, like the smartphone market.
