Leaked images show Google smartwatch prototype made by Motorola

Leaked pictures of Google's rumoured smartwatch prototype, made by Motorola, have reportedly surfaced online.

The images of the smartwatch, codenamed 'Gem,' show the device having a square display with a capacitive back button and two rocker buttons and one image shows the display featuring settings menu.

According to Mashable, the Google Watch falls under the Nexus category of devices and runs on Android.
The report said that although it is not clear when the photos were taken, but the smartwatch was believed to exist in 2013 when Google still owned Motorola before selling it to Lenovo earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Motorola recently confirmed that it was working on a smartwatch, which would hit stores later this year, and it is unclear if the two products are related, the report added.
